Vic Superkarts, Round 5

In what can only be described as extreme conditions, Round 5 of the Victorian Superkart Club series was held at the Winton Motor raceway on August 1. Tyres were the deciding factor with most drivers opting for the Dunlop KT11-W11 wet.
Several gearbox drivers heading off to the second and deciding round of the Nationals at Morgan Park in Queensland treated the day as a test session, thus the high number of DNS and DNF's in the gearbox class results. Several other drivers also found the grass verges around the track to be rather damp.
Junior A.M.S.F. Championship contender Jaymee Frampton geared up to run as a senior and proved that she will also be a challenger next year in Rotax Light. Jaymee drove consistently all day to finish second behind Russ Occhipinti. The day was no doubt a good test for when the Junior Championship resumes at Winton next month.
