More Wins For US National Micro Max Champion

press release

The G7 Motorsports Team has been working a busy month of August as they prepare for the balance of the 2010 racing calendar including running in a new class. The team has been racing and testing at several northeast region tracks running both the Rotax Micro Max class and testing the Comer Cadet program for an upcoming WKA Manufacturers Cup event. Team driver Anthony Gangi Jr. has spent several days and completed hundreds of laps this the month testing at Englishtown, NJ. The team ended the month this past weekend with a Northeast Region RMax Challenge race held at Oakland Valley Raceway Park in New York.

“The team has been working with the Comer Cadet program using the very successful CRG Big Al cadet chassis,” comments Anthony Gangi Sr. “The New Jersey track is perfect for testing and we are getting up to speed quickly.”

Coming off of two weekends of Comer testing, Anthony Jr. headed back to his home track of OVRP to run the third round of the five round double header Rotax Northeast RMax Challenge. In Saturday racing action it would be a perfect return as Gangi Jr. took the pole, the pre-final win and the final win to sweep the opening day and stand on the top spot of the podium. On Sunday, Gangi would repeat the sweep, again dominating the time sheets with pole position in qualifying, a win in the pre-final and victory in the final for two straight wins on the weekend. The strong weekend performance puts Gangi Jr. back on top of the Rotax Max Challenge National standings as the number one ranked Micro Max driver in the country.
“Anthony Jr. had another great weekend in the Micro Max,” smiled Gangi Sr. “He really has that program dialled in. We are on a learning curve with the Comer package, but with Chris’s (Perez) help we should be in good shape.”

The team is preparing for the WKA Divisional event this weekend at the ultra fast New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, N.J. The following weekend the team will be back to Millville for the 2010 SSC East/CRG Nationals. The WKA Manufacturer’s Cup event is being held on September 17-19 and will attract some of the best talent in US karting. Up next for Anthony Jr. and the G7 Motorsports team will be two more rounds of the Rotax Northeast Regional RMax series being held at F1 Boston and at New Jersey Motorsports Park. The team will cap off the season with a trip to the 2010 SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas, NV.
