Drivers Primed for Saturday Night Series Finale

The eighth and final round of the 2010 Saturday Night Kart Series is to be battled out this Saturday night (October 30) at Wollongong City Raceway, near Kembla Grange on the South Coast of NSW.

It’s been a very hotly contested throughout this year’s Saturday Night Series leading up to the finale and that is proven by the number of classes that are yet to decide the point standing battle outcome. A strong showing this Saturday night is going to be crucial for the drivers that are still in contention in order to determine their point standings fate. There is no doubt that the racing will certainly be action packed throughout the Saturday Night Series finale from start to finish.  

The format for the Saturday Night Series is going to be practice and qualifying sessions, followed by three heat races and then the all important final, which decides the overall round winner in the respective classes. A similar format will be held for the penultimate round of the Pro Moto Series, which is for motorcycles under 150cc in engine capacity, on Saturday morning. They will practice and qualifying sessions, followed by three qualifying heat races and then the final – which decides the overall round winner.

Senior classes that make up the Saturday Night Series include: TAG Heavy, TAG Light, TAG Restricted, Open Performance, Senior National and both Clubman Light and Heavy; along with the Junior classes that consist of Midgets, Rookies, Junior Performance and Junior National.  The classes in the Pro Moto Series are Elite Water-cooled and Mini Motard.

Action for the Saturday Night Series is scheduled to blast into action at 2pm and finish at 9pm, while the penultimate round of the Pro Moto Series is held on Saturday morning at 9am and goes through to 1pm.

Wollongong City Raceway is located on the corner of West Dapto Road and the Princes Highway in Kembla Grange on the South Coast of NSW.
