WSK Grand Gala Night

Saturday, January 8th, the facility Centro Fiera del Garda in Montichiari (Brescia, Italy) was the location for the WSK Grand Gala, namely the award ceremony for the championships that WSK Promotion organizes. ACI-CSAI authorities along with administrative and business personalities presented awards to the 90 drivers and teams having established themselves in the WSK World Series, Euro Series, Master Series and Nations Cup in 2010. In addition to 40.000 euros of money prizes, the winners were awarded with prizes of honour worth 30.000 euros.

Eminent figures at the WSK award ceremony. Automobile Club Monaco treasurer Pierre Karczag and other eminent figures from the Italian Sporting Authority stood out among 200 guests. For ACI-CSAI were present the Vice-president Bruno Longoni, the General Secretary Marco Ferrari, the Executive Committee members Francesco Solimena and Oronzo Pezzola, the President of the Karting Subcommission Vittorio Loriga, the Vice-president Orazio Manni, the members Paola Acerbi and Marcello Somera and the secretary Alessandra De Vito. On behalf of the city of Montichiari, there were the major Elena Zanola and the deputy major Gianantonio Rosa. The representatives of Centro Fiera were the Director Ezio Zorzi and the manager of the Kart and Race exhibition, Maurizio Catania.

Awards to the international karting community. In his introductory speech, the President of the WSK Promotion Luca De Donno pointed out among other things that drivers of 46 different nationalities and from 5 Continents competed in 2010 WSK season. The best among them mounted the podium along with the mangers of the winning teams in the special ranking for teams. There was a large attendance of the Manufacturers as well, from Giancarlo Tinini (CRG) to Roberto Robazzi (Tony Kart), Antonio Penna (Top Kart), Dino Chiesa (Zanardi), Alessandro Villa (Birel), Stefano Griggio (CKR) and Nicolas Sguerzoni (Intrepid).

Manufacturers are getting ready for 2011 WSK season. All the manufacturers and teams attending the ceremony gave confirmation of their presence at the WSK Series and informed that they are already working to prepare 2011 season. The new sporting calendar is official and will be also set out at the Exhibition in Montichiari where the WSK is attending the show Kart and Race along with his Motorhome from 14th to 16th January.
