Arrow Wins at Florida Winter Tour

press release

Rounds one & two of the Florida Winter Tour were held on the 22nd & 23rd of January, 2011 at the Orlando Karting Circuit in Florida, USA where Arrow Racing Karts scored a win in Rotax Masters, and four podiums throughout Senior Max, Junior Max and Rotax Masters.

Denver resident Scott Falcone started the series in the best way possible taking his Arrow X1-CIK chassis to first place in Saturdays final. Falcone raced into the lead at the beginning of the race, and cleared out into the distance to claim his first Florida Winter Tour race victory. Falcone began Sunday’s final from third position, and after numerous red flag incidents he went on to secure a second place finish in Sundays race to lead the Rotax Masters championship.

Austin Self continued his recent success by qualifying in second position in treacherous conditions for Saturday’s race. After having a difficult start and dropping down the order, Self regained his composure to finish in ninth place. As the green flag was waved to start the final, the Texan driver made some bold moves to find his way inside the top five after lap one, and by mid race he was in the race lead. As the leading two drivers cleared out in front, Self was overtaken and after making several attempts to regain first place, he had to settle for second position in Junior Max.

Australian David Sera claimed a double podium in the hotly contested Rotax Senior category. Starting from pole position in Saturday’s race, Sera went on to finish in second position to give himself an outside front row start for the 20 lap final. After losing positions at the beginning of the race, the Arrow driver tried to chase down the leader, but was unable to and finished a close second.

Having earlier qualified fourth for Sunday’s race, Sera joined the leading two karts to break away from the chasing pack and after dicing with the leaders throughout the pre final, he placed his Arrow into third position. Sera pounced early after the green flag was waved to start the final, and got into the race lead with the second placed driver right on his tail. Sera lost the lead on lap five, and trailed the leading driver to the finish line to claim two second place finishes on both days.

We would like to thank all who contributed to the fantastic results and express our gratitude and appreciation to all who continue to support our products.
