Kiwis Make Thier Mark In Ipswich

Reigning CIK Trophy of New Zealand - presented by Paymark title holders Aaron Marr (KF3) and Karl Wilson (KZ2) made their mark at the opening round of Australia's CIK Stars of Karting Series at Ipswich in Queensland over the weekend.

Marr, 15, from Wanganui, qualified fifth and finished sixth in the Pro Junior (KF3) class while Wilson, 26, qualified and  finished the Pro Gearbox (KZ2) Final in 11th position.

The event, which attracted over 70 of Australia's top KartSport drivers, was dominated by the defending class champions, Matthew Wall winning Pro Gearbox from Tyler Greenbury, Kel Treseder and Jason Pringle, Cian Fothergill winning Pro Light from Adam Hughes, Grant Smith and Matthew Waters, and Pierce Lehane winning Pro Junior from Joseph Mawson, Jake Klarich and Brock Plumb.

Both Kiwis plan to contest all rounds of the CIK Stars of Karting Series with the next in Adelaide over the April 02-03 weekend.
