Cool Drivers Continue Winning Form

press release

The Fujitsu “Cool” Drivers have enjoyed a successful week of kart and Formula Ford racing over the last week with some excellent results, including four major wins.

At the Victorian Open Kart Championships held recently, New South Wales driver Joey Mawson scored outright victories in the two classes he contested, before going on to win the very next weekend at the Rotax Pro Tour in Dubbo ... and what’s more, he did so from 27th on the grid.

Renee Gracie also enjoyed a great weekend of racing at Dubbo, leading the Pre Final and the Final and looking very likely to become the first female round winner, but slipped back to third place late in the race after a brilliant drive.

Also doing well at the Port Melbourne circuit the previous weekend was South Australian “Cool” karting driver, Todd Hazelwood.  Todd scored a fourth and second overall in the two classes he contested and actually led every lap of the Junior National Heavy final before slipping to second when within sight of the flag.

Last weekend’s Clipsal 500 event saw the four “Cool” Formula Ford drivers contest their opening round and Cameron Waters and Nick Foster scored a great one-two finish in the first of two races before failing to finish in the second race when Waters crashed at the start of Lap 2 then bounced directly into the path of the closely following Foster.

All in all, a great start to the 2011 Fujitsu “Cool” Driver Program.
