Gutierrez Set For Hometown Show

press release

At just 14 years of age, George Gutierrez will carry the intense weight of the South Australian Karting fraternity on his shoulders as round 2 of the 2011 CIK Stars of Karting will head to Bolivar Raceway in South Australia next weekend, April 2 and 3.

Competing in the Pro-Junior KF3 Class, with a field of 21 karts, George will be amongst Australia’s best young talent, as he states, “I’m looking forward to setting myself against drivers like Pierce Lehane and Joseph Mawson”. Other notable competitors include; Renee Gracie, Brock Plumb and Jake Klarich.

Following a relatively successful opening round at Ipswich Raceway, which saw George finish 12th in the final, in a new FA (Fernando Alonso) kart, with just four sessions under his belt in it, the team are confident of some strong results with an amass of home town support at the circuit where he began his racing at just age 7.

Gutierrez is preparing himself and the kart ahead of the rigorous race weekend ahead, saying, “I’m very excited to be racing not only CIK, but to be on my home track, meaning experience should work into my favour.”

The event will take place across Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3, and take in 6 different race classes with strong entry numbers across the board.

GG MotorSport would like to thank their sponsors for their continued support; Vin Melisi & Son, Out 'n' About Your Mobile Mechanic, TD Racing, OTK Racing Team.
