Pro Gearbox Podium and TAG Victory For DR Kart

press release

The DR KART Racing Team has come away from round two of the CIK Stars of Karting series held at  Southern Go Kart Club’s Bolivar Raceway in South Australia with their heads held high, after a fantastic display from their drivers through the Pro Categories and support classes.

Adelaide’s Pro Gearbox (KZ2) pilot Scott Taylor (right, Ash Budd pic) has taken it to Australia’s best and shown his intention of winning the 2011 Pro Gearbox (KZ2) championship. Scott began his round two campaign with 2nd fastest time in the top 5 shootout to start the heat races on the front row, next to multiple Australian champion David Sera. Scott held his position over the weekend and regularly challenged for the lead. A well deserved 2nd place in the final was a fantastic result for Scott and the DR KART Racing Team.

“This round was very good for me, my DR Kart was very fast from the first session and proved to be very consistent over the long 34 lap finals. I believe I can be a real threat to the overall championship victory. I have full faith in my team and the equipment they are providing me with, I cannot say enough about our package, Jorden, Lee and Ben were also very quick,” explained Taylor

Jorden Lindstrom (Greensborough, VIC) capped off a fantastic campaign for DR KART Racing Team finishing up in 4th place in the Pro Gearbox (KZ2) final after starting from 10th position. Jordie took a great fight to the CRG kart drivers in the final stages of final 2 first overtaking Kel Tresender and then on the final lap making the most of Jason Pringle’s braking mistake to take 4th position.

Fellow team driver Lee Mitchener started the final race from third position and looked set for a possible podium finish until an early race incident dropped him well down the order. Lee recovered to 10th position and came away with another good bank of points to put him 6th in the championship standings and well within striking distance.

The DR KART Racing Team looks forward to another successful campaign at round three of the Championship in Melbourne (June 16-18).
