Themed Events For Lithgow's 30th Year

press release

This year is a very important one for CDKC. 30 years ago a group of concerned karters got together and formed a new kart club on December the 3rd 1981 and took up residence at Lithgow City Kart Raceway. That club become known as Combined District Kart Club.

In that 30 year period the club has achieved a great deal with the purchase of the property at Oakey Forest Rd, Marrangaroo, the construction of the club house and the all weather pit area along with great facilities such as a first rate canteen and toilets.

Over the years a great number of karters have started their motor racing career at CDKC including our current Australian Touring Car Champion James Courtney. Many karters have distinguished themselves in karting and motor racing competitions all over Australia and Internationally - the list is the who’s who of Australian karting and motor racing elite is beyond reproach.

In that 30 year period CDKC has successfully conducted a great number of state and national karting events. To celebrate this milestone in karting, Combined District Kart Club intends to ensure all their race meetings will carry a theme in celebration at all meetings in 2011.

The first meeting on March 26 and 27 will be known as “Cols Castle" meeting in recognition of founding President, the late Col Becker. Today, the Becker family is still involved with CDKC and a number of family members still race at Lithgow on a regular basis.
