Karting Thief Charged & Sentenced
Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for KartSportNews to be reporting stolen karts and karting equipment. It is, however, rather uncommon for the thieves to be found, never mind brought to justice.
Definitive Racing was the victim of theft last year, with several karts and tens of thousands of dollars worth of engines, tools, kart parts and equipment stolen.
Unlike most karting thefts, the perpetrator has been found, charged and sentenced. Gus Cyrillo, late 20s of Padstow NSW, was sentenced in March for theft from Definitive Racing last year.
"As most karters knew, Gus was an ex-employee at Definitive Racing" Steve Pettaras explained to KartSportNews.
"He has been charged in Bankstown court and now has a criminal conviction. He was sentenced to a 12 month good behaviour bond."
