Bolivar Race Meet To Raise Funds For Cancer

The Southern Go Kart Club has had a considerable number of members who have had some form of cancer, whether it be themselves or a family member, and some are currently undergoing treatment.

"Some of these members volunteer countless hours to our club and the South Australian Go Karting Community", SGKC Publicity Officer Emma-Louise Lester informed KartSportNews.

"While the club is not able to directly help each of these members and others within our racing community, we wanted to do something in return for them."

The 'Open' race meeting at Bolivar on June 19 will now be a fundraiser for the Cancer Council of SA.

"After a number of phone calls, emails etc, the club has received approval from Cancer Council SA to run the race meeting, and a dinner on the Friday evening prior, as an Approved Fund Raiser.

"The club will automatically donate $5 from every race entry direct to Cancer Council SA with part proceeds from the dinner also being donated direct on behalf of the Club and the SA Go Karting Community."

The meeting will offer 14 classes using a qualifying plus 3 heats of 12 laps format. It will be run in reverse direction, and the club mentions this event will be great perparation for the City of Adelaide Titles at the venue on August 6-7.
