Preparations Begin for U18 & Academy Drivers

press release

Some sixty drivers converged upon Jesolo (ITA) on 3 and 4 June, for a familiarisation session ahead of the 2011 edition of the CIK-FIA U-18 World Championship and Academy Trophy.

In fact, although the first of the three events will not take place until 8-10 July, in Ortona (ITA), the opportunity was given to those who so desired to get to know their racing equipment during a preliminary training session, for which the complete karts (Academy) or engines (U-18) were provided free of charge by Parolin, as they will be at every event.

The Academy Trophy drivers were allocated their chassis for the season, by the drawing of lots,  and spent the day installing their seats, bodywork decoration and various other items of equipment necessary for the next day’s run; they also fitted their tyres (LeCont) and filled their tanks with this E10 petrol supplied by Panta.

As for the drivers of the U-18 World Championship, they took possession of their chassis, according to the make with which they are registered, and received, by the drawing of lots, a WKE/FIM engine.
