Vic Superkarts Round 4Round four of the Victorian Superkart Club 2011 series was held at Calder Park under fine weather conditions. The 250 International karts were thin on the ground but Rod Prickett had a run no doubt to test his machine prior to the first Nationals round at Eastern Creek in July.
In the STR Truck Bodies 250 Nationals it was almost a clean sweep for Matt Palmer in his STR machine but a DNF in the final cost him the day to Brett Campbell.
Not much further back in the field the Barry Plant 125 gearbox class were at it hammer and tongs with Garry Heywood dominating the day. Rob Millar took the day with consistent results over the four heats and Rolf Greve in Third. Unfortunately most of the rest of the field had a day they would rather forget.
In the Vendetta Wheels Rotax non gearbox class it was hard and fast racing at the front all day in both weight divisions. In the Lights, Peter Strangis was just too good for Russ Occhipinti on the day ahead of Newcomer Fabrice Borroni. Slightly further back in the Heavies it was going all Bobby Janes way with a clean sweep over four heats from Mike Godsell and Steven Milner.
Round Five of the club series returns to the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit on July 9 and also features round ONE of the Victorian Junior Superkart State Championship.
