DPE Announces Leisure Karting Series

Is this the Next Big Thing for Australian karting; mid-week racing on private circuits where drivers can bring their own gear, or do an arrive-and-drive deal on the night?

DPE has announced a Leisure Karting Series utilising their Subaru powered Track Warrior kart (see advert below).

The Track Warrior Leisure Karting Series is a bit like a cross between AKA Sprint Karting (although it should be noted, this has nothing to do with the AKA) and traditional Hire Karts, mating the fun and low fuss of rental karting with the use of proper race karts in properly organised race meets.

A series commencing in August at the privately owned South Morang circuit (outer North-East suburb of Melbourne) will be the litmus test for the viability of such a scheme. No previous experience or AKA/CAMS/AASA licence is required and drivers can lease or own their racer.

More information can be obtained from Adam Klunyk at DPE on the email address in the advert.

It will be interesting to watch where this goes...
