Arrow On Top in Warwick

press release

Round four of the Rotax Pro Tour was held at Warwick Kart Club, Warwick, Queensland on the 23rd-24th of July 2011. This was the second major event conducted at the circuit in less than a month, and Arrow drivers were at the forefront of the field with young New South Wales driver Joseph Mawson capturing a gutsy win in Junior Max Light and Mitchell Kennedy taking victory in Junior Max Heavy.

After qualifying in fourth position, Mawson dictated terms from the front, only losing one heat race along the way to win his fourth Rotax Pro Tour round in succession and book a trip to the Rotax World Finals in Dubai later this year.

Mitchell Kennedy saved his best for the final when he went on to win Junior Max Heavy. After only tasting success in the opening heat race, Kennedy was amongst the leading contenders throughout all the heat races, and proved superior in the final to outgun his rivals.

Another Arrow driver on the podium was Brendan Nelson, who secured second place in Rotax Heavy after starting the final from pole position. Zeke Edwards started the final from second place, giving Arrow an all front row start, with Edwards ultimately finishing the final in fourth place.

Luke Rochford raced in the latest X1E 30/32 variation with our new SKF ConCentra bearings, and it proved to be a fast package, with the young Victorian posting the fastest time in qualifying and going on to win the opening heat race. Eventually Luke finished fifth in the final after having to make his way back from tenth after a second race DNF.

Arrow Racing Karts will now move their focus to Round Four of the CIK Stars of Karting Series to be held at the Newcastle Kart Club this weekend.
