Rotax Ranking Rules Amended

There has been an amendment to the Rotax Ranking Rules for the 2010/2011 ranking cycle.

The change is effective immediately and has been identified as a necessary amendment before the 2011 Rotax National Championships. It is the only change to the current rules (full rules for 2010/2011 ranking cycle are HERE).

Thenew rule is:

Events under appeal

If the results of a particular class, within an event, are under appeal, within the AKA system, the provisional results from that class will still be entered.

If IKD run any prize or promotion with a date cut-off (including the invitations to the Rotax World Finals), any events under appeal, within the AKA system, at that date, will be included in the prize consideration even though results may be rectified at a later date.

For example:

IKD are offering the top 2 ranked drivers the opportunity to compete at the Rotax World Finals as at a particular date. As of that date, a particular class at an event is under appeal, within the AKA system. The provisional results will be entered for that class. The drivers to the World Final will be announced regardless. At a later date when the official results for that class are published, the competitors attending the World final will remain the names originally announced, even if the ranking has now changed based on the new results entered so long as the 7 days for the Right of Appeal time limit has passed (refer to the clause on Right of Appeal.)
