In addition to the on-track competition, the CIK-FIA U18 World Championship and Academy Trophy have innovated since 2010 by implementing an educational programme called Edukart.

On terminals with touch-sensitive screens the Drivers are called upon to answer a varied questionnaire tackling matters such as the sporting and technical regulations, the history of Karting as well as information on the anti-doping fight. In order to prepare themselves as well as possible they had all received the list of possible questions and the various explanations necessary to have good understanding of the topics concerned.

After completion of this questionnaire a classification is drawn up taking into account both the number of correct answers and the time taken by each Driver to answer the 25 questions asked.

Among the 15-18 year-olds of the U18 category, Anthoine Hubert was the quickest of the 20 Drivers who got a fault-less score. The young Frenchman will be rewarded on Sunday on the podium, which he will share again with Finland’s Ville Mäntylä and Russia’s Dmitry Dlougy.

Among the Academy Trophy youngsters, 12 Drivers have given a correct answer to every question. The Russian Vsevolod Gagen – who already topped the classification three times last year – proved again to be the quickest in font of the screen. The Dutchman Marijn Kremers and Malaysia’s Syazwan Mohd Noor will also have the pleasure of stepping on this podium.

It is worth noting that beyond the pleasure of being congratulated on the podium, the winners will also receive a financial reward (300 Euros to the 1st, 200 Euros to the 2nd and 100 Euros to the 3rd placed competitors).
