Rik van Beek Is VT250 4-Stroke Champion

press release

With two races left and a comfortable lead, Rik van Beek could already win the GK4 kartseries title in Emmen. With a 3rd place podium position behind winning teammate Dimiti Mom, he clinched the title in Europe most important 4stroke kart championship as a crown on his impressing season.

After a depressing 2010 season with a vice-title and a lot of mechanical failures, K en K karts with Rik van Beek as driver switched to the prestigious European GK4 kartseries. The Lewis Hamilton chassis, now powered by Swissauto turned out to be a great success with 4 out of 6 racewins and the title.

“During this raceweekend we concentrated on securing the title and boosting teammate Dimitri Mom to the 2nd spot in the championship table”. Says Rik van Beek. “It was far from easy, the weather and circuit was challenging.”

Raceday started with a sunny sky. Van Beek made no secret of his championship plans with a fourth place on the startgrid. A defect to the exhaust reduced his engine power and win chances and resulted in a fifth place in the first heat. The two following heats were driven on a soaked circuit and both were finished in the top 5, resulting in a 3rd place in the dayresults and the title!

“I would like to thank K&K karts managed by William Koen. Great thanks to Anthony Gommans my mechanic. Also I would like to thank Swissauto, and specially Rollin Vanmeerhaeghe, for excellent engines and service. CRG and CRG Holland, Michel Vacirca and Raimo van der Boom, are hereby thanked for their support on the Lewis Hamilton chassis. Of course, everybody who contributed or supported us this season are also thanked!” Says an enthusiastic Rik van Beek.

As the title is already secured before the season’s final and teammate Dimitri Mom has great chances to win the vice-title, the team will also support him on this quest
