Gutierrez Facing Home Ground Advantage Leopard Final

press release

George Gutierrez is this week preparing for his biggest Leopard Light Karting encounter as he will face the 2011 IAME National Leopard Challenge set to feature as part of the 2011 Alpha Industries SA State Karting Titles to be held at the Monarto Karting Complex in the Adelaide Hills.

Gutierrez will be the youngest driver of the 19 Kart field that will feature some of Australia’s best, including Karting legend and one-time Australian Sports Sedan Champion James Sera, Cian Fothergill and 2011 CIK Pro Light Champion Jake Spencer.

The 15 year old admits however that it will be a superb learning experience as he continues on his development in becoming a mature racing driver in the future.

George states, “the opportunity to race against drivers such as James (Sera), Cian (Fothergill) and Jake (Spencer) is yet another means of developing skills and learning how to cope under pressure and my ability to battle amongst the Nation’s best drivers.”

The Adelaide student will again campaign the FA Kart chassis and the team have been consistently working on finding improvements in preparation for the big event. George admits, “we are pretty confident heading into the weekend of a good result, it will be a huge test for me to remain composed and I look forward to it as it is great preparation for the future.”

Open practice begins for the 2011 IAME National Leopard Challenge on Wednesday with Qualifying and Friday and the heats to follow along with the all important final set to take place on Sunday afternoon.

“I am just so excited to be racing in such a big event in front of my home crowd and I’m looking forward to putting on a good show and to represent South Australia in the best way possible,” Gutierrez concluded.
