F100 Nationals/HH Cancellation - Info From GKCV

As announced earlier today, the Go Kart Club of Victoria, in consultation with the promoter of Horsepower Heaven, Domenic Albanese, has made the decision to cancel this week’s Formula 100 and “Horsepower Heaven” meeting, citing a lack of entries.

Significantly, both F100 Light and Heavy classes failed to attract the necessary numbers to form the classes in accordance with the AKA rule book.

“It is with sadness and regret that the Race Committee has had to make the decision to cancel the meeting due to lack of entries" GKCV President John Wall informed KartSportNews.

"We had monitored the CMS entry system right through to the bitter end and even waited for Monday’s mail for stragglers – all to no avail”.

“The decision to cancel had to be made as early as practical to prevent complete disarray to the interstate entrants, who obviously had plans in place to compete this weekend” he added.

“You can lead horses to water, but you can’t make them drink. We had advertised the meeting via several information and advertising outlets, but at the end of the day, Karters have answered with their feet and possibly hip pockets. I would certainly hope it wasn’t a lack of apathy that killed the meeting. Even the support classes were lacking in entries”

"The notion of 3 State Championships in Tasmania, South Australia and the Victorian Closed Titles in virtually successive weekends has surely had a knock on effect with the lack of entries for this meeting.”
