Latest Karting Decisions From FIA-CIK

The FIA World Motor Sport Council met on December 7 in India. The following decisions were made with regard to karting:

2012 CIK-FIA Championship Calendar

• The Monaco Kart Cup for KF3 and KZ2 has been confirmed as part of the 2012 international calendar. The event, which will again use part of the F1 layout, will take place on 12-14 October 2012.
• The date of the third and last event of the CIK-FIA “U18” World Championship and Academy Trophy, is November 1-3, in Bahrain.
• The 2012 CIK-FIA European Superkart Championship expands to four events: Hockenheim (DEU, 20-22 April 2012), Snetterton (GBR, 14-15 July 2012), Assen (NLD, 3-5 August 2012) and Le Mans (FRA, 28-30 September 2012).

Manufacturers’ Representatives

• Birel, OTK Kart Group, Iame and Vega have been appointed Manufacturers' Representatives in the CIK-FIA “Technical-Homologations-Manufacturers" Working Group. Bridgestone has been appointed in the "Sporting Regulations-Calendar-Championships” Working Group

Karting International Series

The following international Series have been approved:

• Rotax Euro Challenge (4 events)
• Rok Cup International Final (1 event)
• Winning Series Karting/WSK Masters Series (3 events)
• Winning Series Karting/WSK Euro Series (4 events)
• German Superkart Series (6 events)
