AKA Technical Rules Update

The Australian Karting Association has today published a number of technical updates on the organisation's website, karting.net.au.

The updates mostly cover the banning of thermal barrier, ceramic and anti-friction coatings, that throttles cannot be actuated by electro mechanical means, and carburettor jetting must be manually controlled.

Be aware, however, there are other changes specific to certain engines, so you should familiariase yourself with the engine specs in the Technical Document appropriate to the class you race.

There are documents for Biland SA-250, Comer SW80, Parilla Leopard (both RL and X30), PRD Fireball, SQ Cheetah, Rotax (Snr MAX, Jnr MAX and DD2) and Yamaha (S, J and SEC).

Further, "the Australian Karting Association and International Karting Distributors (Australian Rotax Importers) are continuing to discuss the Rotax world rules and the impact the decision from last August’s Annual General Meeting is having on the category. Any changes on the rules will be issued as an addendum".

All the updates can be found HERE.
