JAM Racing is expanding its already strong team with the arrival of Michael Griffiths who will contest in the Australian Leopard Challenge in the CIK Stars of Karting Series.
Griffiths, who looks to fare strongly in the series, has already had much success in the Leopard class taking his first state title in 2010.
“I’m really excited to be joining JAM Racing for the 2012 season, I’m also really looking forward to watching the other JAM boys racing in the Pro Light KF1 class. The championship winning team lead by Josh Brooker already has a wealth of experience with the Kosmic chassis which I’m sure will help me to get some great results throughout the series” said Griffiths.
Back again in the Pro Light KF1 class will be current national champion Jake Spencer who will be looking to go back to back this year. After a stellar debut year, Spencer really has become a force to be reckoned with. His speed and consistency have been second to none.
“Going into this season I have much more experience and can’t wait to get started, the competition this year looks exciting so we should be in for an enjoyable year. Karting is a great hobby and it’s awesome to be doing it with some of my best mates.” Spencer said.
After some strong results and finally sixth in the Pro Light KF1 championship, George Geranis is looking to improve on his performances and fight for the title this season.
“After learning a lot in my first year of CIK racing I feel as though I am much more prepared going into round 1 this year. My race craft and set-up knowledge have improved a lot and I hope to challenge for race wins this season.” Geranis said.
2011 season proved to be a very unlucky year for Adam Hughes after leading final races on several occasions, only to be the victim of some disappointing mechanical failures. Hughes will again line up in the Pro Light KF1 class under the guidance of Remo Luciani and mechanic Josh Brooker as he looks to stake his claim on the James Courtney Trophy.
“Last year was defiantly a hard year with some highs and lows at every round apart from round 1 which ran quite smoothly. After dropping chains while leading two finals at the Newcastle rounds I hope we can have a more reliable year. The change to the points format this season should help me, as I won five heat races last year. I’m really eager to get to round 1 and start my assault on this year’s championship.”
