AKA Rule Addendums

The Australian Karting Association released the following three rule addendums. All are effective immediately.

Addendum #8

As per Postal Vote – PV2012-04, the NKC by majority vote have approved amendments to the Technical Documents of the following engines;

Comer SW80
Yamaha KT100J
Yamaha KT100S
Yamaha KT100SEC
Parilla Leopard X30
Parilla Leopard RL
Rotax Junior Max
Rotax Max
Rotax DD2
PRD Fireball
SQ Cheetah
Biland SA 250

Addendum #9

The following wording to be re-inserted into rule 23.09 of the 2012 AKA Manual. This wording was omitted from the 2012 rule book inadvertently.

23.09 APPROVED TYRES:
5. (a) Method of approval: (Note tyre still requires ratification by NKC before final approval is given).
    (b) (1) CIK Approved
                • Importers pay registration fee of $275.00
          (2) Not CIK Approved but previous tendered brand / compound.
                • Submit Technical data as per AKA Tyre tender
                • Fees same as Tyre tender and royalty
          (3) Not CIK approved and not a previously tendered brand / compound.
                • Submit technical data as per AKA Tyre tender
                • AKA Nominated tyre tester to carry out test
                • Fees double the tyre tender and royalty.


Addendum #10

At the NKC teleconference held 31st January, 2012, the following was approved and is now applicable.
20.57 Appointed Officials:
All series Officials to be appointed by the IKC Committee.
1. Series Officials will include;
     • Chief Steward with minimum grade 1 qualification.
     • Clerk of Course with minimum grade 1 qualification.

     • Chief Scrutineer / Technical Officer
     • Series Co-ordinator
2. At each round of the series, a minimum of three (3) Stewards with a grading of 1, 2 or 3 will be appointed by the relevant State Karting Council from recommendations made by the State Officials Co-ordinator. Level 4 Stewards may be appointed in addition to the minimum requirement, for training purposes only.
3. The IKC Committee shall cover travel expenses associated with the provision of the appointed Series Officials. All other expenses including the evening meal (recommended $40 limit per night) are the responsibility of the promoting club.
