Starting the season off right, Formal would be the driver to beat at the Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) opening rounds. Showing speed right from the very first lap on the unofficial test day, Formal never let up all weekend long taking the main event victory on both Saturday and Sunday. While Saturday's victory would stand, the Intrepid driver would fail post race technical inspection after Sunday's final and would be removed from the final classification.

"Though the season started off well at PBIR, we were kind of behind the rest of the field after Sunday's disqualification," explained Formal. "It was hard to take at the time but it gave me more motivation to win at the next two events."

Heading south to the Homestead Karting Complex in the shadows of the famed Homestead Miami Speedway in mid February, Formal would have another terrific outing. Utilizing knowledge and experience of the challenging Homestead facility, Formal went on to secure two victories in dominating fashion, adding to his 2012 win total.

The third and final event weekend of the series would be held at the pristine Ocala Gran Prix facility in Central Florida. Utilizing a Rotax powered Intrepid, Formal topped all drivers again on Saturday to take yet another main event victory. Looking to make it five race wins in six rounds, Formal would encounter his only falter of the weekend as the skies opened and rain began to fall.

"We had a dry setup on the kart and we had very little time to put the wet tires on the kart," explained Formal. "We were late getting our equipment ready so I was forced to start from the pit lane. It took me a few laps to get up to speed as the track was very slick, but once I was comfortable, I began to move forward."

Starting from the pits and nearly a quarter of a lap behind after the first flyer, Formal had a drive for the ages as he worked his way forward. Slicing and dicing his way through the field, Formal put on a clinic as he drove forward to claim the third and final podium position.

With four victories and five podiums, Daniel Formal was awarded the Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour TaG Senior Championship Sunday evening.

With the Formula Kart weekends now complete, Formal will shift his focus to the Rotax Max Challenge program of the Florida Winter Tour. Currently sitting fifth in the Rotax Senior point standings, Formal has a mathematical shot at the title and will look to catapult himself up in the point standings with a pair of victories in Ocala.

Daniel Formal would like to thank his 2011 partners including: Intrepid North America, Advanced Karting, IMAF, HRS Engines, MG Tires, K1 RaceGear and DDF Engines.
