Step Backward To Move Forward

press release

Round 2 of the CIK Stars of Karting series presented by Castrol Edge offered a vastly different challenge for LGK Australia’s Matthew Bode than that of the Round 1.

After enduring a difficult debut in the Pro Gearbox category, it was decided soon after that a weekend spectating the best in Australia would be the ideal preparation for Round 3.

“While attending the Grand Prix in Melbourne myself and my manager sat down and worked out a plan going forward. Working what seemed to be almost every day between events meant I couldn’t prepare myself as I would’ve liked and out of respect to the other guys who are out there testing every weekend, we decided spectating and working with the boys from Lenzo Kart Australia would be the best option,” commented Bode.

With just under two months between now and his home event at Ipswich, Bode is confident that the varied knowledge he has gained from the opening rounds and a much larger testing schedule will stand him in good stead to prove to others just what he’s made of:

“Working closely with Luke Gabin of Lenzo Karts Australia throughout the weekend, I was able to learn more about the CIK style of karts and more specifically the tyres – knowledge I know will help my own performance come Round 3.”

Combined with a heavier physical training regime, Bode aims to finish in the top half of the field come finals time.

Round 3 of the CIK Stars of Karting series runs on the weekend of the 16th of June just outside of Ipswich.
