Wall Top Scores, But Walter Wins The FinalTweetpress release Round one of the 2012 King of KZ2 series was held at the longer Winton Motor raceway on May 13 (Mothers Day). Fifteen karts turn out to a rather chilly but dry day at Winton for what was to be some great racing and an exciting 30 lap final that included a mandatory pit stop involving a rear tyre change. Heat one it was Matt Wall from Ricky Capo and Gary Pegoraro. Heat two it was Matt Wall again from Ricky Capo and Daniel Price and in the thirty lap final amongst all the strategy of when to pit, change the wheel and get some fuel on board it was Ben Walter ahead of Matt Wall and Mathew Mills. Lee Mitchener and Andrew Budge were in for the spoils not far behind the leaders but all turned bad for Budge during the final. The Victorian Superkart Club was pleased to be able to host round one of the series and enjoyed the great atmosphere of having their sprint kart cousins at Winton. We look forward to having them join us again in 2013.
