Dubbo's May Races

from Arthur Mortimer

Club Championship Race Meeting at Dubbo on Sunday, 20th May, 2012

Only three karts contested the Cadets class with a visiting driver leading the locals to the top of the Podium.  Zachary Heard from NSKC  beat Blake Fardell and Mitchell Whale and at the same time broke the Cadets Lap Record, going round in 58.301 seconds, beating his previous month old record of 58.541 seconds.

Tyler Everingham and Logan Monaghan battled out the Rookie class with Tyler leading all day to record a comfortable win.  In Clubman Combined, local Chris Riley recorded firsts in both heats, the Pre-final and Final to take the honours from visitor Richard Drooger and rapidly improving local Robert McCutcheon.

The Junior National Light class was the most hotly contested event at this All Points Count Race Meeting with Nicholas Riley achieving top honours even though he suffered a DNF in the Final Heat.

For Joshua Behn and Luke Wrigley this was an interesting event as both were participating in an ABC On-line Production – “110% Sports Mad Video Project”. Whilst the ABC Camera Crews and Producer were busy with happenings all around the Circuit, these pair enjoyed having recording cameras fixed to their Karts for footage to be used in the program.

All in all, it was a friendly and enjoyable race meeting, despite the numbers being less than expected. Full results on AKA CM:s HERE.

The Dubbo Kart Club’s next Race Meeting is on Sunday the 17th June, 2012.  This is their Annual Three Track Challenge Race Meeting where all competitors benefit from racing on three different tracks on the one day, with the winners being those with the most appropriate set-up for all three tracks.
