Phillip Island Floods

Practice for the opening round of the Australian Superkart Chanpionships has been disrupted due to flooding at the Phillip Island circuit today.

The Superkarts got one track session this morning (as did most other categories running on the Shannon's Nationals program) before organisers were forced to cancel the rest of today's practice sessions.

Water was across the track at turns 1 and 3 and the circuit’s main access tunnel had to be closed. Workers will try and clear water overnight and there are likely to be changes to the program for the rest of the weekend.

WA's Stuart Kostera (Zip) headed the times with a 2:06.1088s lap, over 17(!) seconds faster than ACT's Paul Campbell. Only six drivers registered a time.
