Karting News Briefs

Karting stuff from anywhere:

  • CIK-FIA Vice-President, Kees van de Grint, said he was 'very disappointed' with a number of competitors at the KZ World Cup event in Sarno on the weekend. The event was supposed to be the first meeting where the new 108db noise limit regulation was to be implemented, however the noise measuring system failed. "(Due to the failure) Stewards could not be fair to all competitors and therefore they had no other option than to cancel all noise penalties. However, what has disappointed me even more is the fact that some competitors ignored the regulation by removing their silencers. Even without the presence of the Police, the law still stands. It's a pity that not everybody understands how much noise is an issue for the future of karting.”

  • The two Aussies, a Kiwi and a Canadian competing in the KZ2 World Cup on the weekend attracted the attention of Vroom, who called the European event 'truly global'. Some quotes from the ANZACs on Vroom HERE.
