Exprit On Top Down UnderTweetpress release The full force of Exprit Australia was felt at the 2012 Rotax National Championships in Dubbo, with team drivers Pierce Lehane smashing the competition for victory in Rotax Light, and Joseph Burton-Harris putting in an all-star performance to finish 2nd at one of the most exciting events of the year.
16-year-old Pierce Lehane dominated the weekend in Rotax Light to end Australian Karting superstar David Sera’s supremacy of the category. The Exprit pilot drove away from the field in the Final, after an early race accident forced a single file restart. From there Lehane was never headed to claim his second Australian Championship Title of the year, crossing the line more than 6 seconds ahead of minor place getters Joey Mawson and Kiwi Daniel Kinsman. English-born Sydneysider Joseph Burton-Harris steered his Exprit machine to 2nd place on the podium in the 40 kart Junior Max field. The 15-year-old secured the position from Victorian James Golding after a late race pass in the 24 lap Final.
Rotax Over 40’s campaigner Peter Virgulti joined in on the podium spoils as 2nd and 3rd place competitors failed the post race technical inspection, elevating the Queenslander to 3rd position. To add to the weekend, Exprit Australia was also victorious in the Manufacturer’s Cup, claiming 1st place just 4 points ahead of Tony Kart in 2nd and Intrepid coming in at 3rd. A tremendous effort made by all of our Exprit drivers.
