Karting news briefs:

  • Dates and venues have been announced for the 2013 Victorian Open Sprint Kart Championships and 2013 Victorian Closed Titles. Next years Vic Open will run at Puckapunyal on March 8 to 10, while Portland will host the Vic Closed on November 31/December 1.

  • A reminder to all Golden Power Series competitors who have run all five rounds - you are eligible for one spit roast ticket at the final round of the series at Puckapunyal on the 10-11 November. The ticket will be given to the competitor at the final round. If anyone wishes to purchase extra tickets, they need to contact the VKA by November 6. Extra ticket prices: ADULTS $20, CHILDREN (under 15) $15.

  • From Karting NSW - Dubbo Kart Club’s circuit Lincoln County Raceway is closed until further notice for all karting uses (including racing and practice).

  • Ben George has posted some behind-the-scenes and track photos from the Euro MAX Challenge round in France on the weekend. George was running Joseph Burton-Harris at the event under the R360 Europe banner. Visit the facebook page HERE and HERE.

  • RL Racing Department in the UK will be running two Winter Training Camps in the Canary Islands either side of Christmas. The organisation said the inaugural 2010 camp was a great success as UK karters escape the cold and wet of home for the mild, dry climate of the Lanzarote track.

  • The annual Ciao Thomas Knopper Memorial will not take place this year. A misunderstanding between Kart Club Kerpen and the Thomas Knopper Racing Foundation resulted in a clash of dates with the final of the Bridgestone Cup. The Thomas Knopper event will return in 2013, at Kerpen.

  • Teaser video for the live telecast that will be beamed around the globe via the internet for this years Rotax World Final. The broadcast will commence on 28 November. Finals will be held on December 1.
