Toowoomba's Carnival of FlowersTweetfrom Trevor Beetham Toowoomba Kart Club history was brought back on Sunday 16th September as the QVHK karters reproduced an old poster (below) promoting the Carnival of Flowers Sunday in 1973 at Cannole Raceway, up the road a little at Postmans Ridge. Quite fitting that Qld Vintage & Historic Karting provided 10 vintage karts for several spirited demonstrations throughout this weekend, showing how things used to be done. These karts were powered by Victa, McCulloch, Parilla, DAP and other engines. Another fun meeting although racing entries were down a little, this was disappointing with the club providing some great Trophies. Howard Napper filled the Commentating duties while Trevor B had a race. There was plenty of action throughout the day as the classes were combined where required. Clubman Light won by Alexandra Whitley & TAG 125Pro won by Steven Lintott, combined to see plenty of mixed results. Sportsman Over 40’s includes Clubman and 125 TAG Restricted which also provided plenty of action, Victor Velkov took the win overall. Clubman Heavy became a father vs son battle with Dad, David Bossoms taking the win. The Shields brothers took victories in their Cadets & Rookie classes. Will Brown got the job done in Junior National Light from James Wilkins. Trent Harders is looking for some competition in Senior National Pro. Overall, another fun club day and thanks to everyone for their support.
