Starting fifth in the Final, he came out on top of a had fought battle with Brock Plumb and Andrew Carey to take the final podium position behind seasoned campaigners Pierce Lehane and Daniel Rochford.

Thomas will be racing the Birel RY30 chassis again this weekend, competing in Rotax Light at the South Australian State Championships.

The extra seat time will further familiarise him with the Birel kart before taking on the World's best Junior Rotax drivers in Portugal next month at the Rotax MAX Challenge World Final.
