Shamick Racing Announce Huge 2013 Lineup

  31 December 2012

Shamick Racing has announced a huge line-up of karting talent for the 2013 season. The Melbourne-based team will field entries in all CIK and Rotax Pro Tour events, plus state and national championships.

"We can confirm sixteen drivers will contest these series with Shamick Racing's kart, logistical, mechanical and general support" Shamick's Brett Hughes informed KartSportNews.

Matt Wall leads a six-driver lineup for Rotax Pro Tour. Wall will race in DD2 and Rotax Heavy, while team owner Shane Wharton will contest DD2 Masters.

Eleven Shamick drivers will race in CIK events, five in the premier KZ Gearbox category, such as Leigh Nicolaou and Jordan Ford who will be coming back for their second year assault.

"Matt Wall competed at the last round at Todd Road for Shamick in 2012 and will be at all 2013 rounds, along with two experienced KZ drivers, Ben Walter and Matt Hunt" Hughes added.

"KF has Jordan Nicolou returning for his second year with Leo LoBianco also going to contest this category.

"KFJ had Liam McLellan race at the last round in 2012 where he finished on the podium in 3rd position, which was the first time he had raced this category."

In the CIK support classes, Shamick will have Aaron Lawrence and Bradley Smith campaign TaG Heavy and TaG Light respectively.

"Along with the drivers at each round there will be mechanics, engine tuners, team management and catering.  You could well expect to see in excess of 35 people at CIK rounds.

"The Arrive and Drive packages put out to AKA drivers have proven so popular that only one place still exists for CIK, and four spots are available for the Pro Tour.

"All of us at Shamick Racing wish all karters, official’s, volunteers and their families all the very best for the coming New Year. May you all be safe and most of all enjoy your racing."
