Hays' Renewed Energy

press release 19 February 2015

Former KZ2 Australian Champion Chris Hays has set his sights on the 2015 Australian Championship and has renewed his contract with Karting Australia's Manufacturers Champions, Energy Corse Australia.

Fresh from a 3 month break since his outstanding result against some of the worlds best at the Race of Stars, Hays has begun pre season testing and is confident about the Championship ahead.

"Our testing has gone extremely well in the new 2015 Energy chassis. It's definitely the strongest pre season testing we have had. Although last year we ended up with four podium results, we had a disrupted championship which was basically a test and development season for us. This year, I'm positive we will reap the rewards from last years work and can focus purely on winning races."

With many drivers changing teams and manufacturers over the off season, Hays has opted to stay with the team that brought him his first KZ2 Championship in 2012.

"We have had multiple offers over the off season which is a great confidence boost; however I believe staying with the Energy Corse Australia team will provide me the best possible chance of reclaiming the championship."

The Gold Coast driver will be in good company, with Bundaberg star Kel Treseder and fellow Ipswich Kart club members Sam Houston and Troy Bretherton confirmed for the Energy Corse Team.

Round One of the Karting Australia Championship will commence at Todd Road, Melbourne on Friday 3rd April.
