Kiwi Confident Ahead of WSK Round

press release 18 March 2015

An upbeat Marcus Armstrong is confident of an even better showing at the second round of this year's WSK Super Master kart racing series in Italy this weekend.

The 14-year-old from Christchurch finished tenth in the KF2 class Final at the opening series round at La Conca a fortnight ago but had earlier crossed the line fourth in his Pre-Final.

Unfortunately a penalty for crossing a track line relegated him to eighth, meaning he had to start the Final from P15 on the grid.

That shows he has the pace to run with works Tony Kart teammate Nicklas Nielsen and round one KF2 class winner Karol Basz, and he rates the Castelletto circuit as one of the best.

"It's a fantastic circuit, my favourite on the calendar," he said last night. "I had good results there at the European Rotax round last year and we tested there last week and everything seemed very positive. So yes, I'm very much  looking forward to being back there this weekend."

Armstrong will be one of over 190 drivers contesting this weekend's meeting and after the first round (of four) lies 11th in the KF2 class series points standings currently being led by Polish driver Basz from Dane Nielsen and Martin van Leeuwen from the Netherlands.
