  • Clubman Super Heavy has replaced TaG Restricted Super Heavy for the Queensland State Championship round at Emerald on April 17-18. Karting Australia issued an addendum yesterday announcing the class swap, plus a reduction to the minimum entry number to form a class from eight down to five. See the addendum HERE.

  • Victorian karters Aaron Cameron and Oscar Piastri will be racing KF-Junior at the third round of the WSK Super Master Series at La Conca, Italy, this weekend. "This afternoon I took my first walk of the track and have only just realised how wide these European tracks are!" Aaron wrote on Facebook. He will drive Tony Kart/Vortex with the Kartonix International team. Piastri, fresh from victory in Melbourne last weekend, will drive Kosmic/Parilla for Frank Cancelli. Sunday's finals wil be live streamed via the www.wsk.it website and will once again feature commentary by Australian Ian Salvestrin.

  • The official Ricciardo Kart Junior Team made its debut at the Australian Karting Championship round in Melbourne on the weekend. The team experienced mixed results, the highlight being Harrison Hoey's effort in the KF3 class, the #97 posting several top-5 practice times only to crash out of the third heat whilst running second. Engine dramas halted his progress in the Final, taking 11th at the end. “The team conducted themselves in a very high standard all weekend,” said Team Principal Michael Patrizi. “With a new team and an overall staff count of 14 people including drivers, it was great to get the first event under our belt."

  • Industry update: All orders taken through the K-Racer website will now be shipped directly from the DPE Kart Technology warehouse. "This gives us an incredible opportunity to tap into the resources of the largest karting supplier in the country" K-Racer's Colin Fink advised KartSportNews. It will also mean Fink will have more time to do what he enjoys, rather than packing boxes. "I love making technical videos, blog posts, and all kinds of content. (This change) means I can concentrate on providing the best possible technical content and setup advice that I can."

  • Wimmera Kart Club members are looking for a strong showing at this weekend's second round of the Victorian Country Series. Robbie Turmine will be competing in the Cadet 9 class, Alex Baker in Junior National Heavy. Brayden Souter and Leon Forrest will be competing against a huge field of 30 in Restricted Light class while Ash Mitchell, Mav Cottrell and Jordan Lee will all be racing in a field of 18 in TaG Restricted Heavy. Michael Seeary and Remo Luciani will be competing in Clubman Heavy. Around 160 have entered the event already, including several from South Australia, and competitors can still enter up to 7:30am on the Sunday morning. "On top of the VCS sponsors, we would would like to say thank you to our Round 2 Sponsors - Allan & Trev’s Workwear, Cranston Australia, Concept Cleaners, Horsham Injector Services, J&A Fencing, OnSite Engineering Services, Porky’s Tyres, Remo Racing and The Royal Hotel."
