Tiger Kart Club's April Club Day

Nearly 130 Tiger Kart club members turned up to compete under lights at the Wanneroo Kartway on Saturday night for round 3 of the 10 race TKC club championship series.

Most classes had huge fields that resembled what you would expect to see at an open meeting and the racing was fierce but fair with everyone enjoying themselves both on and off the track.

At each club day we change the track configuration and this time the 815mtr layout was used to great effect. A tight hairpin followed by a series of S bends in the middle of the circuit really took some work to get right and if you out braked yourself into the hairpin it really messed up your momentum through the following S bends.

No matter the track though the cream always rises to the top and the regular front runners were all battling it out once again to see who could take the top step on the podium that night.

Some of the stand out drivers on the night were DAMON PAPASERGIO who took a classy win in the Jnr National Light (KA100) class against some strong competition from BARTHOLOMEW HORSTEN and JACK HARDERS.

The next generation of hot shots in the Cadet 12 (Mini Rok) class also had some great racing with CRAIG SPENCER taking the honours over HUGH MCGUIRE who was closely followed home by MAX MCRAE.

A special note also needs to me made for CAPRICE HALL who took her first win in Cadet 12 (Yamaha J) a great effort and the start of many more to come no doubt, well done.

To all the drivers who made the podium well done but I’m sure even those who didn’t manage to secure a top 3 place had a great night with lots of dicing right through the pack in every race.

A big thanks also to the stewards, officials and race staff who did a great job to ensure the meeting ran on time and on plan with all races completed by 9.30pm.

The night finished off with a sausage sizzle and trophy presentation where everyone can recap the day’s action over a few refreshments and enjoy some time with our karting companions.

The next club day will be at Cockburn International Raceway and should be a huge event with it being just before the Carnival of Karts the following weekend.

The track will use the same configuration as the Carnival so it will be a great shakedown meeting for one of WA’s premier karting events and we expect over 150 karts just for the club day, it should be huge!!!
