HHC Reveal REXON Ballerina Engine

  7 May 2015

Well-known carburetor manufacturer HHC has established REXON Motors and will produce a 125cc direct drive engine, called Ballerina, for the upcoming CIK engine regulations.

"In 2011, Karlheinz Hahn already designed and developed an engine for the KF class" Rexon informed KartSportNews.

"A meeting with the new CIK vice president Kees van der Grint at the beginning of 2012 in Wackersdorf brought this to a halt. A new, simpler engine was demanded from within the sport and the KF engine was to expire."

With just a three year homologation for the current engines, it was decided to focus on the new engine with Rexon's new project manager, Karl Janda.

"This was done over the last three years, starting with a very simple concept engine (already with the decompression valve) for the first CIK test, up to today to our Ballerina. As the regulations got clearer with each step, the engine took shape."

The result is the REXON Motors Ballerina for 2016.

"It would be good to know what people think about it, because we think it's the way to go" Janda told KartSportNews. "(It is) straight forward, cheaper and more simple. Our test drivers love it because it runs almost as the old IcA, but with less vibrations."

Rexon also announced Meteor pistons (a Milan-based company producing two and four-stroke high-performance pistons) as a technical supplier.
