The 4th edition of the Coppa dei Campioni Vintage will take place this weekend at the legendary Pista Azzurra of Jesolo (ITA), not far from Venice. The event, which is not competitive, will bring together 130 Historic Karts dating from 1956 to 1991 as part of the Go Kart Show organized by Automotoclub Storico Italiano with the active support of the CIK-FIA.

Go Karting enthusiasts will have a unique opportunity to understand the history of Karting for novices, a place to find out about the engineering pioneers of the discipline, an ideal place for discussion and exchange for specialists, with guaranteed performance demonstrations on the track, and the Coppa dei Campioni Vintage has all this at once.

The Coppa dei Campioni Vintage, first of all has a unique setting, the Pista Azzurra at Jesolo, including the paddock delightfully shaded by umbrella pines has seen the biggest names up until the 2000s - F1 drivers Prost, Patrese, Senna, Zanardi, Schumacher, Fisichella, Kubica, Badoer, Hamilton and many other karting stars competed on the circuit which was built in 1962 and modified in 1985 to reach a length of 1045 m on the current route.

Since 1972, Jesolo was the site of 13 editions of the famous Coppa dei Campioni which was resurrected for Historic Karts in 2012 with the name Vintage. The success of these older machines continues to grow worldwide since the impetus came from the United States. The cradle of competition karting, Europe is today the place of choice for this irresistible movement.

The four CIK-FIA categories, with or without gearboxes, from 1956 to 1984 provide the bulk of the field, while beautiful newer machines between 1985 and 1991, will participate with the "modern" label. Among the oldest machines, the diversity is huge with displacements from 84cc to 250cc with single or twin cylinders, and sometimes twin engines.
