Archer & Farrow Locked and Loaded

press release 4 June 2015

Two time national champion, Peter Archer and team principal, Phillip Farrow are “locked & Loaded” for this weekend’s NSW Speedway Kart Title.

While Phillip Farrow will campaign his “VSR” Powered Clubman No. 23 in the Over 40s class, Archer has entered his potent Van Schaik Racing No. 77 machine in the KT Modified (Heavy) class. Peter Archer will also double up and has been called upon to drive Brendan Farrow’s Clubman in the Over 40s.

The decision to call Archer into the Over 40s division will see the two team mates run head to head although both insist there are no teams orders.

“I think we have proved that in the past’ Archer said.

In fact, few people can forget the side by side battle between the two drivers in heat 3 of the Aussie titles last year. Farrow ran mid track with Archer beside him around the top for almost the entire race. It was an enthralling race that even brought praise from the officials.

“We can race hard as long as we don’t punt each other off the race track. That said, if one of us did do the wrong thing, it would be a long trip home.” Peter Archer said.

While Archer and Farrow both love the Gosford track, Archer is a little guarded about his chances this weekend.

“To be honest, our preparation for this weekend has been woeful. While Phil’s kart is ready to roll, I have made some significant changes to the “VSR” KT. With the amount of washouts in the last few months, we haven’t had time to test. I think the changes will work but nothing is certain. With regards to the Clubman, I have bolted my VSR Clubman engine to Brendan’s chassis but I have never turned a wheel in that kart so it will be a total unknown.” Archer said.

Adding to the pressure this weekend, Peter Archer has also been coaching junior driver, David Blanch. Despite only a handful of meetings conducted this season, Blanch has turned a lot of heads and is definitely one to watch
“It’s been an amazing transition. Last year David was regarded as a back-marker and was playing second fiddle to his Aussie Champion brother Zac. Now he’s a real contender and I get a lot of satisfaction out of that.” Peter said.

A stellar line up of drivers across all classes will join Archer and Farrow on track for the 2015 New South Wales Speedway Kart Titles this Saturday and Sunday at the Gosford Showground/Speedway.
