Jake Goes 3 From 3

driver PR 24 September 2015

Speedway Junior National racer Jake Donaldson sat down at the end of 2014 after becoming a National Champion in Junior National Light with a plan to take all major events in 2015.

Last Saturday the 19th that came true with a win at the Karting Australia Speedway Kart Titles held at Kurri Kurri Speedway in the Hunter region of NSW.

Jake started his quest for all three 'majors' with a dominating win at the NSW State Title back in June in the Junior National Heavy class.

Following on from that win, the Stones Kart Sport racer went on to win the Junior Super Series Championship which had the best Speedway kart drivers competing monthly for the ultimate prize.

Once Jake had secured both State Title and the JSS Championship, he and the team then set their sights on the National Title.

The team sacrificed Club rounds trying to find the best set up for the challenging Kurri Kurri Speedway. Kurri has had the best of the INOX Lubricants machine and driver but they knew a good result wasn’t that far away.

A very smart mentor once told us as a team to not show our hand until the last minute, or last race as it where.

That’s what we did on Saturday, knowing we only had to get it right for the Title race. All day Jake was near the pointy end of the field but we didn’t want to show too much.

Come pay day with Jake on the outside front row he was able to get a great start and would pull a margin on 2nd place man Kyle Mock.

Jake won this race in the first two laps with 2nd place unable to make any ground once Jake got to the front. For 20 laps the 13 year old never made a mistake and would go on to claim the Australian Title in JNH for 2015.

Just for good measures the team backed up the Title result at the Club show at the same venue on Sunday with a dominant 3 wins from 4 races on the way to winning the State Wide Forklifts Shootout and also picking up highest points overall for the NSWSKC Club.

Jake, the team and friends could celebrate knowing that he achieved something special on this day and can now focus on something pretty special & a change of direction in December - details to follow soon.
