  • facebook logoDo you use Facebok? Does Facebook not always tell you when there's been a news item posted on KartSportNews? When items are published on Facebook, Facebook only sends it to a small percentage of the followers of that page. That's just how Facebook works. However, there's an easy way to make sure you're notified of updates. Firstly, make sure you've Liked the KartSportNews Facebook page (it's HERE). Then, go back and click the little arrow on what is now the "Liked" button and choose Notificaitons. You can then choose exactly what you want to see (we'd suggest tick everything). Of course, if you just visit the KartSportNews homepage every day, you'll never miss a thing anyway!

  • Rotax Grand Finals Latest:

    • For the first time, the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals will see a Best Presented Team award. The idea is that this will be presented to the team/country with the best overall presentation with regard to the entire team - driver, mechanics, distributor/entrant. Thing is, Rotax will be asking fans to vote for the teams via Facebook (photos will be available as of November 10th) and will award the winning team at the Drivers' Party on Saturday, November 14.

    • The fastest mechanic of the RMCGF will be the champion of the 8th MOJO Tyre Changing Contest. 'Qualifying' will be held at the Welcome Party on Sunday, November 8. Finals are at the Drivers' Party on November 14.

    • The nominated mechanic for the winning driver in all four of the RMCGF categories (Senior MAX, Junior MAX, DD2 and DD2 Masters) will be honored for their effort with the Mechanic Awards, to be held at the Drivers Party.

  • Having just won the KF3 Australian Kart Championship, 15-year old Reece Sidebottom is on the way to Portugal for the Rotax Grand Finals. When he returns, he's off to Winton to test drive a Formula 4. More on the Riverine Herald website HERE.

  • Bridgestone Americas has released a new soft/medium compound kart tyre for next year, designated 'YLM". It will be the spec tyre for the WKA's IAME Senior and IAME Junior classes in 2016. The YLM is available in 4.5/10.0-5 and 7.1/11.0-5 sizes.

  • BRP-Rotax has released information regarding EVO engine upgrades and an exchange program on certain components. The company has identified issues with the electronic timed exhaust valve, the new EVO con rod and failures of the wiring loom. See below for further detail from Rotax regarding these three items.

PLEASE NOTE: there is no point contacting the Australian distributor about these items just yet!

IKD is awaiting stock, and the start switch/cabling harness exchange does not commence until next year. We will advise karters when items have landed in Australia. Once that's happened, IKD can then make arrangements for relevant changovers.

  • It will be like going back in time at Coffs Harbour on Saturday November 21 when the Coffs club present "The Yamaha" race meeting. With support from Yamaha Australia, Yamaha mechandise and motors will be given out and only Yamaha-powered drivers will receive prizes. The club's NAB Cup Final race meeting will take place the following day, Sunday, Nov 22.

  • How bizarre is this - an AiM SportSystems Australia customer opened their new parcel and found this ring sitting in the box! Turns out the ring somehow slipped off the staff member's finger while packaging the item in Italy and they hadn't noticed until it was too late. We hear they almost turned the AiM factory upside down searching for the lost ring! The item was returned to the company's Australian agent (AiM SportSystems Australia) during the Geelong AKC round on the weekend and will shortly be on its way back to home to Italy. Just as well we have honest Aussies!
