CompKart In Australia

industry press release 13 November 2015

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM COMPKART AUSTRALIA (FORMERLY BIREL KARTSPORT AUSTRALIA)

After a tumultuous few weeks, the team at CompKart Australia feels it necessary to communicate to the Australian and New Zealand Karting communities the facts behind recent events, and to re-enforce their total dedication and commitment to their race team, customers, drivers and dealer network.

CompKart Australia acknowledges they are no longer the Australian Importer and Distributor of BirelART.  As most would be well aware, over the last several years, CompKart Australia took the Birel, and subsequently BirelART brands from relative obscurity, to a level of competitiveness and professionalism in the Australian karting industry that is the envy of many.

Therefore the decision to award BirelART Australia to an inexperienced individual, especially based on our results and sales figures, defies logic, but none the less a decision we accept and have moved forward from to an exciting opportunity that will place us in an even stronger position for the future.

The results and market share that our team achieved is something we are extremely proud of and just our results from the last 12 months speak for themselves.

In the Karting Australia Championship, our team took out the KA TaG Australian Championship with  team driver Brad Jenner, Jenner also finished a close Runner-up in X30, and Runner-up in the premier Rotax Light class in the Rotax Pro Tour.

The team also claimed 4 state championships, over 50 podium finishes at state and national level, and to cap off the season, no less than 4 of the Team Australia drivers for this years Rotax World Finals came from our team.

Immediately after receiving the news from BirelART, and with overwhelming support from the Australian and worldwide karting industry, the team signed a deal with CompKart to become the sole importer and distributor of their products for Australia and New Zealand.  The CompKart chassis are manufactured at BirelART but owned and operated by the long established and very highly respected J3 Competition from the USA.

CompKart was very excited to announce the new deal and combined with CompKart Australia’s outstanding knowledge of the product and proven track record to date, is looking forward to a long and rewarding partnership.

It didn't take long either, with Brad Jenner winning the final round of the Karting Australia Championship and the KA TAG Australian Championship, in his first outing aboard the CompKart.

CompKart Australia’s Steve Macken -  “We are excited for the future partnering with CompKart, it’s a product we know intimately, have had great success with, and it also creates some really exciting opportunities for our drivers and customers with the USA connection opening the door to compete in major events in the USA such as the Florida Winter Tour and las Vegas Supernats.”

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal dealers, drivers and customers for their continuing support and also we are overwhelmed and humbled by the good wishes and support shown by the Australian karting industry and community as a whole.

"We also re-assure our dealers, drivers and customers that we will continue to support them just as we have in the past, as we have a huge inventory of BirelART and Freeline componentry in stock  and a full line-up of CompKart Chassis and accessories ready for delivery and we are looking forward to continuing our success into the future."
