Thomas Sargent Wins Free Drive in Europe

press release 9 February 2016

EurOz Driver Management is pleased to announce Thomas Sargent as the winner of the first ever EurOz Scholarship event.

Fifteen drivers went head to head in a series of assessments designed to challenge each and every one of them, both mentally and physically.

Every driver had different strengths and weaknesses, something that each of them can now work on in detail having received their bespoke written report.

“We were impressed with every single driver that entered the scholarship, both on and off track. They all conducted themselves well and pushed hard throughout” said Jamie Rush.

Thomas, 14, was that all round package that EurOz were looking for. In every aspect Thomas excelled and completely stunned the judging panel when it came down to the media evaluation and to impress the judges further he topped all the results when it came down to the fitness tests.

“I felt like I could have maybe even gone further but thought I only had to beat the people there on the day. It wasn’t until on the way home I realized there were a lot more entrants to carry out their whole evaluation at a later date” said Thomas.

Thomas’ on track talent was yet again another aspect that showed the judging panel exactly what he is capable of, with it being the first day he had ever driven on the new tyre compound due to rule changes in 2016, adapting within the first couple of sessions.

“To see someone adapt to such a change and still perform at their best in the circumstances they were in very impressive and something that couldn’t go un-noticed” said Oliver Myers.

When choosing the winner it was a tough decision but EurOz truly believe Thomas is a young talented boy with great attitude, ability and potential.

Thomas has won a fully funded drive in Europe and has chosen to race in the British Kart Grand Prix in the Junior X30 class, which will see grids of up to 90 karts in that particular class.

He will be racing for the Coles Racing team that have seen multiple British and European Championship wins.

“I cant wait to get to the UK and show people what I am capable of, not only this but it is going to be such an amazing opportunity that I cant wait to take advantage of and I cannot thank EurOz enough for all of this” he said.
