  • Ringwood Kart Centre's Ian Branson debuted the new Azzurro Z4 chassis at the Bendigo Golden Power Series round on the weekend. Moksy ran the kart in TaG Masters. After a troubled Friday (broken engine bolts), his first hard session was qualifying. "Sixth was the best I could do with no practice" he wrote on Facebook. Over the weekend adjustments were made to the kart, moving forward each time. "End result was a win in a dry pre-final and another win in a wet final. There is huge amount of satisfaction in achieving success while driving a kart you made from a clean sheet design with your own hands. There is massive potential in this new Azzurro Z4 kart. Proud to say that Azzurro is still here and will be for a long time."

  • An incorrect version of the Supp Regs for the City of Melbourne titles was accidentally supplied to us the other week. It was soon switched over to the correct one, but if you're intending to race this event, it might be best to re-check you've read the correct version! Click HERE to download the PDF.

  • While not directly relating to the average karter, the podcast at the link provided gives an insight into the value of race car sponsorship, in this case how Laser Plumbing leverage their sponsorship of Steve Richards (who is still a karter!) and his Porsche. It's on the smallbusinessbigmarketing.com website, so they have a few of their ads thrown in, but the knowledge is very relevent if you've got ambitions for a professional racing career. • Past and present McLaren F1 drivers go racing at Fernando Alonso's kart circuit on proper racing karts (not hire karts). Note the Pirelli brand tyres...

  • Round 4 of the AUSTRANS Victorian Country Series heads to Horsham this weekend. 153 karters are already pre-entered for the racing at Wimmera Kart Club on July 17. "2016 has been a great year for the series, with 247 different karters coming from far and wide to compete in a round so far" Paul Feely informed KartSportNews. "There are now 3 rounds remaining in the series with a maximum of 4010  points still up for grabs in each class. This year you can drop your worst round, which makes many classes closer than 2015 so far, but we wont know how it all balances out until the final round. There is still everything to play for with half a season to go!" Stay tuned to both KartSportNews and the VCS Facebook page for race reports, series updates and photos.
