  30 August 2016

The Mayor of Ballarat, Councillor Des Hudson, has taken to the local kart track to sample the sport.

The club invited the Mayor to Haddon Park Raceway to learn more about our sport ahead of the Victorian Country Series round at the venue this weekend.

Ballarat Kart Club President Paul Feely and Vice-President Mal Mason had a good discussion with Des about the sport, the club and sports in the region.

"Without even hire kart experience (though he has driven a monster truck before!), Des was quick to start working on smooth lines and pushing the kart harder" they advised. "He had quite an enjoyable stint."

After admitting he had a great time, Hudson wrote on Facebook the day after; "I have huge respect for those who choose Go Karting as their sport."

  • The penultimate round of the 2016 AUSTRANS Victorian Country Series is at Ballarat this weekend. There are over $20,000 of series trophies and prizes to compete for. Supp Regs are HERE. Pre-entry closes Wednesday night.
