More Tassie Drivers Hit The Mainland

press release 28 September 2016

Another batch of Tasmanian Karters hit the high seas this week chasing championship glory. Eight drivers from across the island state head for the prestigious Junior Sprint Classic held annually at the Eastern Lions Kart Club in country Victoria for what is one of the biggest junior race meetings in Australia.

Heading the list is Westbury’s Tate Frost who is fresh from claiming eighth in the Australian Kart Championship in KA4 Junior Light. Frost will also be competing in KA3 Junior class and will carry the Tasmanian State Title blue plate he won last year.

Frost will be joined by two further Launceston Kart Club members in KA3 Junior with both Kurtis Love and Lochie Dalton making the trip.

Kyle Love hits the mainland for the first time and will be keen to see the daunting Puckapunyal track in KA4 Junior Heavy (C&D).

Kiana Toon makes another visit to the big island and will be competing in KA4 Junior Heavy as well as the KA4 Girls class.

Hobart’s Evan Chivers is another who will be flying the Tassie flag and will be eager to see where he stacks up in KA4 Junior Light (C&D).

Rounding out the Tassie travellers is Ollie Richards who will compete in Cadet 9 aboard his new Birel kart.

Whilst these eight head for Victoria, another group of Taswegians head for Dubbo for the final round of the Rotax Pro Tour.

Launceston’s Mitchell Kerrison will be keen to finish the year off on a high in J-Max and sits 16th in the national series standing.

Hobart’s Callum Bishop will be keen to retain 3rd place in the Junior Trophy class as will brother Xavier Renshaw who sits 3rd in the Micro Max class.

All three have travelled the length and breadth of Australia in the seven round Rotax Pro Tour and have been great ambassadors for Tasmanian karting.
